ParentAgent helps busy parents stay on top of school communications by reading emails from selected school senders, extracting important dates and information, and delivering summaries via WhatsApp.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

• Email address (via Google Sign-In)
• WhatsApp phone number (provided by you)
• Name (from your Google account)

Children's Information

• Children's first names (entered by you)
• School year/grade level (entered by you)
• Class names (optionally entered by you)

Note: This information is provided by parents only. We do not collect information directly from children or interact with children in any way.

Gmail Data (Sensitive Scope)

We access your Gmail account with your explicit consent using Google's OAuth 2.0 authentication. We only read emails from sender addresses that you specifically add to your approved senders list. We do NOT:

• Access your entire inbox
• Read personal or non-school emails
• Access sent emails or drafts
• Modify or delete any emails

From approved school sender emails, we process:

• Email subject lines and body content
• PDF attachments (e.g., school newsletters, permission slips)
• Sender email addresses
• Date and time of emails

Google Calendar Data (Sensitive Scope)

With your permission, we create events in your Google Calendar for school dates and deadlines we extract from school emails. We:

• Create new calendar events with school dates, deadlines, and events
• Do NOT read, modify, or delete your existing calendar entries
• Do NOT access calendars other than your primary calendar

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Process school emails from your approved senders to identify important dates, deadlines, and events
• Generate AI-powered summaries of school communications
• Create calendar events for upcoming school dates and deadlines
• Send you daily or weekly WhatsApp notifications with summaries and reminders
• Match email content to your children's year groups for personalized relevance
• Improve and develop our service

4. Google API Services - Limited Use Disclosure

ParentAgent's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Specifically, we:

• Only use Google user data for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy
• Do not use Google user data for serving advertisements
• Do not allow humans to read your data unless required for security purposes, required by law, or with your explicit consent
• Do not sell, license, or distribute Google user data to third parties for any purpose other than providing the ParentAgent service

5. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to provide ParentAgent:

• Google OAuth: For secure authentication and accessing Gmail/Calendar with your permission
• Twilio: For sending WhatsApp messages to your provided phone number
• AI Processing Services: For analyzing email content and generating summaries (processed securely, not used for training)
• Supabase: For secure data storage and authentication infrastructure

We do NOT:

• Sell your personal data to any third party
• Share your data with advertisers
• Use your data for marketing purposes unrelated to our service
• Transfer your data to third parties except as necessary to provide the service

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data as follows:

• Email summaries: Retained for 12 months, then automatically deleted
• Calendar events created: Remain in your Google Calendar under your control
• Account data: Retained until you delete your account
• Original email content: Processed in real-time and not permanently stored; only the extracted summary is retained

Your Rights: You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at privacy@parentagent.app or by deleting your account through the app settings. Upon account deletion, we will remove all your personal data within 30 days.

Revoking Access: You can revoke ParentAgent's access to your Google account at any time through your Google Account permissions page.

7. Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your data:

• All data is encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL
• Data at rest is encrypted using industry-standard encryption
• Google OAuth tokens are securely stored and refreshed
• Access to user data is restricted to essential service operations
• Regular security reviews and updates

8. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

ParentAgent is a service designed for parents and guardians, not children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 (or applicable age in your jurisdiction).

The children's names and school information stored in ParentAgent are provided solely by parents/guardians to help filter and personalize school communications. This information is used only to match relevant school content (e.g., year-group-specific events) and is never shared with third parties or used for any other purpose.

9. Your Rights (GDPR and Similar Laws)

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
