By accessing or using ParentAgent ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

You must be at least 18 years old and a parent or legal guardian to use this Service. By using ParentAgent, you represent that you meet these requirements.

2. Service Description

ParentAgent is a service that helps parents manage school communications by:

• Reading emails from school senders that you specifically approve
• Extracting important dates, deadlines, and events from those emails
• Generating AI-powered summaries of school communications
• Creating calendar events for school dates in your Google Calendar
• Sending daily or weekly summaries via WhatsApp

Beta Status: ParentAgent is currently in beta. The Service is provided on an "as is" basis and may contain bugs, errors, or interruptions. We appreciate your feedback and patience as we improve the Service.

3. User Responsibilities

By using ParentAgent, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information when setting up your account
• Only add legitimate school sender email addresses to your approved senders list
• Ensure the WhatsApp phone number you provide is correct and belongs to you
• Not use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Not attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
• Not interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
• Continue to check important school communications directly, especially for time-sensitive matters

4. Google API Usage

ParentAgent uses Google APIs to access your Gmail and Google Calendar with your explicit consent. By using these features, you also agree to be bound by Google's Terms of Service.

Our use of Google user data complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. For details on how we handle your Google data, please see our Privacy Policy.

5. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, and content (excluding user data), is owned by ParentAgent and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of the Service.

You retain all rights to your personal data. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process your data solely for the purpose of providing the Service as described.

6. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• Service Accuracy: While we strive to accurately extract and summarize information from school emails, we cannot guarantee 100% accuracy. AI processing may occasionally miss, misinterpret, or incorrectly categorize information.
• No Substitute for Direct Communication: ParentAgent is a supplementary tool and should not be your sole source of school information. We strongly recommend continuing to check important school communications directly, especially for permission slips, health-related matters, and time-sensitive deadlines.
• Missed Information: We are not liable for any missed deadlines, events, or important information, whether due to technical errors, email filtering, or AI processing limitations.
• Service Interruptions: We are not liable for any service interruptions, downtime, or data loss.
• Third-Party Services: We are not liable for issues arising from third-party services (Google, WhatsApp/Twilio) that we rely upon.

IN NO EVENT SHALL PARENTAGENT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information extracted or summarized by the Service.

8. Termination

By You: You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time through the app settings. Upon deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days.

By Us: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Reasons for termination may include, but are not limited to:

• Violation of these Terms
• Abusive or harmful behavior
• Fraudulent activity
• Extended period of inactivity

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

11. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
